1. What are your opening hours?

  • Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm
  • Saturday 8.30am to 5pm
  • We are closed on Bank Holidays

2. How long is a 1 day hire?

A 1 day hire is 24 hours. This can be from our morning pick up (8.30am) or evening pickup (4.30pm). Vehicles can be collected at any time, but must be returned by 8.30am or 4.30pm the next day.


3. How long is a weekend hire?

Weekend rates are from 4.30 pm Friday to 8.30am Monday.


4. What documents do I need to bring?

All hirers must bring their UK driving licence (card).  The DVLA no longer issue paper counterparts, so in order to check any endorsements on your licence, we will need you to visit https://www.viewdrivingrecord.service.gov.uk/driving-record/licence-number  and create a code to share your licence details with us.  If you are unable to do this, we can use a premium rate phone number to check, but we will charge you £4 for doing this.  A second proof of ID is also required, and this must include your name and home address, and be dated within the last 3 months. A utility bill or bank statement are the most frequently used forms of ID.
If you have previously hired from us within the last 3 months then you do not need to bring any documents with you.


5. Is there a deposit?

A deposit of £250 is required with all hires. This must be paid on a debit or credit card, in addition to the hire charge. The deposit will be refunded on safe return of the vehicle. All deposit returns are processed on the day of return, but depending on the card issuer it may take up to 5 days for the funds to appear in your account.


6. What Does the insurance cover?

All our vehicles are insured with fully comprehensive insurance included in the price. Depending on the category of vehicle you hire, there is a policy excess of either £750 or £1500.00. This excess can be reduced by the purchase of a collision damage waiver at extra cost – please check with the office for current rates. If the vehicle is damaged due to driver error. The full repair costs are liable and loss of hire charges may be applied. If hired through a compmany, charges are liable to them. 


7. Who can drive the vehicle?

Only the hirer or authorised additional drivers can drive the vehicle. If you would like additional drivers to be added to the hire agreement, we must see a copy of their driving licence and add them to the rental agreement. They do not need to be present when the hire begins.

  • Driving Experience / Age Restrictions
    1. Van drivers must be between 21 and 75 years of age and held a full driving licence for 1 year. Cars can only be hired by drivers over 30 years old. Van drivers between 21 and 24 may be subject to additional daily charge.
    2. Drivers of 15 seat minibuses must be between 25 and 69 years of age and held a full driving licence for 2 years, and also hold a C1 entitlement. 
  • Endorsement Restrictions
    1. Whilst we are able to hire to customers with some endorsements, some endorsements may restrict our ability to supply a vehicle, due to restrictions placed by our insurers.
    2. Due to the combination of endorsements possible, contact us if you have any endorsements apart from the ones shown below, which are acceptable. For endorsements with a higher points total and all other endorsements please contact us and we will contact our insurers.
    3. SP, CU, TS, PC & MS codes, any combination up to 9 points in the last 3 years, with not more than 6 points in the last 12 months.
    4. Endorsements run from date of conviction.
  • Driving Licence Requirements (Using Company Own Insurance)
    1. When using your own (Company) insurance, we only need licence details of the person collecting the vehicle. Endorsements are not relevant as the vehicle is covered by your insurance. Age limits will as specified by your insurance company. Contact DVLA, www.direct.gov.uk for drivers age / licence category details. Requirements may be different from that shown above for our insurance.

8. Can I hire for a Saturday only?

Saturday only hire is available, with a small additional charge. Please contact the office for details.


9. How do I cancel my booking?

If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please contact the office at least 48 hours before your booking, if a refund is required a £25 admin fee is charged. 


10. What is your fuel policy?

We do not have the facility to refuel vehicles on site, so we will agree the fuel level of the vehicle with you when you begin the hire, and ask you to return the vehicle with the same fuel level.


11. Can I take the vehicle abroad?

Vehicles can be taken to Ireland and Europe, but this must be agreed with us prior to taking the vehicle abroad, and will be subject to additional charges.


12. What happens in the event of an accident?

The Hirer, in the event of an accident and to protect himself and the Lessors, must obtain witnesses whenever possible, take all particulars of other vehicles, persons or property involved, nature of injuries, damage or loss, name or number of police officers present and notify any such occurrence to the us as soon as possible. MAKE NO ADMISSION OF LIABILITY IN CASES INVOLVING THIRD PARTIES.


13. What happens with regards to the Congestion Charge?

It is your responsibility to pay this Penalty Charge. We will also charge you a fee if we have to deal with any administration due to failure to pay the Congestion Charge and/or any late payment penalty.
